Robert Mondavi To Kalon Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Winemaker Notes : The grapes were hand-harvested with three stages of strict sorting: first, on the vine, then by individual clusters, and then again by single berry following de-stemming. The selected grapes went directly into traditional French oak tanks for cold soak, fermentation and extended maceration – a total of 35 days of wine to skin contact – maximizing the extraction of varietal character and complexity while keeping the tannins round and supple. The new wine was drained and gently pressed into 100% new French-oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, assuring seamless integration of fruit and oak. The final blend was assembled through repeated tasting trials over nineteen months of barrel aging. The wine was bottled in August of 2016. The complexity, power, and sophistication of fruit from the To Kalon site is on full display in this vineyard-designated Reserve, with sweet dark cherry and richly concentrated blackberry fruits; a savory, earthy complexity; and toasty oak, vanilla, and spice which linger through the luxuriously long finish. Blend: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot

Flavors of warm mulled spices on the mid-palate complement the balanced and complex structure. The long, aromatic finish exhibits notes of leather and cardamom. The wine is charming and fragrant, and will age gracefully. It is recommended that this wine be decanted prior to serving, to allow it to develop its full potential. This is especially important when serving young Dominus wines.

Tor Melanson Vineyard 2015Winemaker's Tasting Notes: If you liked the 2013 Melanson, you’ll love the 2015. It is sort of like the 2013 Melanson on steroids. This shows the similar density and richness on the palate as the 2013 but with a more floral element to the wine and perhaps a bit more silky palate impression and an additional layer of richness and seamlessness. You will find loads of blackberries, currants, smoked meats. It is good now, but will benefit from a few years in the cellar. With the stuffing and density of the wine it should easily go 15 years+ and only get better and better. The hallmark of a great Cabernet.

W&J Graham's 10 Year Tawny Porto NVWinemaker Notes : "10 Years" indicates an average age – this Aged Tawny Port is a blend of older wines, which offer complexity and younger wines, which bring fresh fruit flavors and vibrancy. During their long maturing period in oak casks, Aged Tawnies undergo subtle color changes: the deep red hue which characterizes Port's youth gradually gives way to a paler reddish amber color. Graham's is known for its rich, elegant house style. This 10 Year has a full, nutty bouquet, the classic Graham's richness and a soft lingering finish. Serving and pairing suggestions Graham's 10 Year is bottled ready to drink after an average of at least ten years of cask aging. It has a t-cap closure, which means that you don't need a corkscrew to open it and that it will stay fresh for two to four months if stored in a cool, dark place or refrigerator. Serve it in a glass with at least a six ounce capacity so that you may appreciate the wine's aromas. Graham's 10 Year is delicious when paired with milk chocolate, creme brulee or fruit tarts. In warmer months, try it chilled for a refreshing dessert in a glass.
Aubert Lauren Vineyard Chardonnay 2012Mark Aubert’s Tasting Notes : The 2010 Lauren Estate Chardonnay reminds me of a hypothetical vintage blend of Sonoma Coast meeting White Burgundy. This 2010 Lauren is naturally clear with green chlorophyll tints on edge. Aromatics are classic Lauren with nuances of lemon-mineral, dried pear and even some green tea like tones. The pronounced “old clone” aromatics of fruits and minerals give an organic sense of place. The bouquet is multi-faceted with hints of apple-baked goods and wet stones. The mouth feel presents a glycerin top note followed by an acid structure only found with these clones. The 2010 Lauren Estate Chardonnay will age on a very slow path and by my assessment should drink well for 5- 12 years. The wine has a slight hazy clarity showing our commitment to minimal interventional winemaking.
Puramun Malbec Reserva 2013Right away, this smells smooth and complete, with a proper mix of berry fruit, oak and earthy aromas. This is Salentein winemaker José Galante's personal wine, and it's juicy on the palate and doesn't overreach. Blackberry, boysenberry and salty, meaty notes finish with a persistent dose of salt, which should make this all the more appropriate when served with beef. Drink through 2022.

Gloria Ferrer Brut Carneros Royal Cuvée Late Disgorged 2009Winemaker Notes : Gloria Ferrer has been perfecting the Royal Cuvee since they served the first vintage to the King and Queen of Spain in 1987. Royal Cuvee is a perfect balance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that allows for the wine to retain its fruit vibrancy and develop layers of complexity from the extended aging of over 7 years. The nose opens with bright, crisp green apple, with a touch of honey. The mouth adds stone fruit, citrus and black cherry. The acid is bright and the mouthfeel is crisp leading into a long finish with a touch of Meyer lemon zest.
