Babcock Santa Barbara Chardonnay 2018Winery Notes: In 2018 we returned to a Santa Barbara County appellation for our flagship Chardonnay. At bottling the wine has a very tightly knit structure. Aromatically, the minerally apple/pear fruit is a bit like a baby Top Cream minus the new French Oak. On the palate, that fruit is launched by a bracing acidity which ushers in a mouthwatering effect all the way through the uber-long finish. While it does have some textural beef, it’s also the kind of Chard that can be chilled way down and sipped poolside.
Billecart-Salmon Brut RoséAppearance: Its pale and bright pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse. Aroma: This cuvée unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Palate: Its special method of vinification gives this cuvée a light, elegant flavour, followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry. Serving: This rosé champagne is an ideal partner as an aperitif and can also accompany a dish of wild salmon or sushi. For dessert, it will add a sublime touch to red fruit flavours.
Turley Steacy Ranch Zinfandel 2017Winery Notes: Steacy Ranch was one of the first vineyards planted on St. George rootstock in Lodi, which has since become the gold standard for Zinfandel in California. Hailing from 1907, the Zinfandel vines in this sandy-soiled vineyard are interspersed with Grenache, Carignane, and Mission varieties as well, all common bedfellows in these classic old California vineyards.
Provenance Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Notes: Our 2016 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon reveals its provenance with layers of fresh, delicate, dark berry fruits. Aromas of blackberry, mulberry, boysenberry, and black currant are present on the nose along with seductive savory notes of potpourri and rosemary. On the palate there is a darker brooding brambly berry fruit supported by pleasing sweet baking spice notes of cinnamon, cedar and clove that surround the core of black currant, chocolate covered cherries and cassis. The depth of flavor culminates in a finish with earthier black tea, bittersweet chocolate, graphite and espresso notes. The firm cocoa-powder tannins—a signature of Rutherford dust character—enhance the velvet texture and well-balanced structure, providing a mineral rich finish, as well as giving this Cabernet its cellar worthiness.
Turley Fredericks Vineyard 2017Winery Notes: This certified organic vineyard, owned by Dick Fredericks, was planted in 1937. Though technically within the Sonoma Valley appellation, the vineyard is actually located about 900 feet up along very steep contoured terraces. We feel lucky to work with this vineyard, as it is very rare to find hillside head-trained old vines. The wines are high in acid, bright, balanced, with well-integrated fruit & tannin.
Turley Hayne Vineyard Petite Syrah 2017Winery Notes: Otty Hayne planted the Hayne Petite Syrah in 1953 while he was home from college visiting his grandfather. All head-trained, dry-farmed and organic, this Petite Syrah is one of the most unique wines in California. Powerful and inky in its youth, the wine becomes more feminine and refined with age and will outlive us all.
Quivira Dry Creek Zinfandel 2016Winery Notes: On the palate, a full range of fresh red and dark fruit, with just a small jammy concentration, fans out into a rich and round mouthfeel with balanced, refreshing acidity. Savory notes of graphite, chocolate and vanilla add layers of flavor to the fruit, finished by an accent of classic Dry Creek Valley baking spice.
Chateau Saintayme Saint Emilion 2017Tasting Note: Denis Durantou's 'entry level' wines, that is to say the wines not produced at his flagship Pomerol estate, Chateau L'Eglise Clinet always rank amongst our 'best value' buys. Saintayme, Chenade, Cruzelles and Montlandrie offer excellent value for money. Denis is quite rightly very proud of his 2017s, referring to them as a 'rare triplet' (with 2015 and 2016). Saintayme is a 100% Merlot cuvee from a 9 hectare plot. A charming bouquet of flowers, charcoal and blackcurrants. The mid-palate is dense and sweet with good robust tannins and a pure cassis finish. Sure to be a great value buy. 100% one year old barrels.
Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2018Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby color. Intense black cherry fruit aroma, exotic oak spice, cola, mint, and complex gravel earth. Intense bramble fruit entry, sensuous textural tannins, lively acid, and showing great minerality in a long finish.
Ridge Vineyards Paso Robles Zinfandel 2018Winemaker Notes: Dark garnet-red color. Aromas of ripe plum and cherry fruits, sweet oak, and complex gravel earth. Enters with sweet bramble fruit, rich tannins, toasted oak, and complex minerality. Refreshing acidity supports a long finish.
Paradigm Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winemaker Notes: Dark Cabernet color with beautiful aromas of black cherry, cassis, plus 5-spice, vanilla. Big, ripe and mouth coating across the palate. The flavors are similar to the aromas with ripe fruit, berry/cherry pie, moderate tannins, and nice length. This wine shows enough structure to be age-worth, yet soft and balanced enough to enjoy upon release. Flavors linger in this tasty, dense wine. Tastes like Oakville.
Lujon Wine Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Notes: Cabernet Sauvignon has been on of our flagship wines from the inception of Lujon in 2005. We have been sourcing fruit from the Walla Walla Valley for over a decade and have grown to understand the climate, soils and vineyards that we work with. We strive for fruit expression, balance, and elegance. Our Cabernet is typically aged in French oak for a minimum of two years and typically will not receive more that 20% new oak. Although oak is integral to the wines development it should never be the main focus. We think you'll agree.
Purlieu Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Purlieu means “the edge of the forest” or “an outlying area.” Directly, it is a reference to our home base in the new Coombsville AVA, at the edge of the forest and the entire Napa Valley. Symbolically, “purlieu” refers to our approach to winemaking, to exploring the outskirts and navigating the boundaries of what one may expect of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. For us, the key to successfully walking that edge lies in maintaining balance: between innovation and tradition, confidence and restraint, depth and refreshment.
Beaux Freres Willamette Pinot Noir 2018Winery Notes: Our annual homage to the region harnesses the collective brilliance of premiere hillsides in six Willamette Valley sub-appellations. With its dark fruit profile, glints of black pepper, and rich, creamy texture, this is a powerful thoroughbred cuvée.
Domaine Huet Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux 2018Winemaker Notes: The nine hectares of Haut Lieu have the richest soils and generally yield the most precocious wines.
Tolaini Valdisanti Toscana 2015Winery Notes: Youthful, rich dark fruit, berry and cassis aromas meld with notable French oak spice. On the palate, Valdisanti is full-bodied with deep but reserved fruit flavors framed by rich oak. The excellent balance of fruit intensity with fine tannins indicates a cellar worthy wine. Note: Some sediment may occur in the bottom of the bottle as the wine is not filtered
Anthem Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet Sauvignon 2016Winery Notes: Our 2016 Beckstoffer Las Piedras Cabernet is another remarkable 100% Cabernet from the acclaimed Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena. The 2016 vintage is exceptionally plush, showing earthy spices and dark berries, highlighted by black olive. On the palate, the strong structure and backbone are followed by smooth, firm tannins, and velvety black fruit.
Tiefenbrunner Vigneti delle Dolomiti 2018Winemaker Notes : Straw yellow in color with lemon reflexes, this Pinot Grigio is youthful and lively. In the nose this wine has aromas of citrus, white blossoms, pears, apples and meadow grass. There is a fresh, crisp minerality and a clear finish.
