2015 Shafer Relentless Syrah

Winemaker Notes: Once again our Syrah and Petite Sirah vineyard in the sloping foothills of the Vaca Mountains has yielded a dark, liquid feast of great richness and depth. The first pour offers an endlessly rich density of meaty, smoky, black fruit aromas while the wine saturates the mouth with deep flavors of black licorice, bramble fruit, black pepper, allspice, bacon, and char. All of this opulence is energized with underlying acidity and bound together with structured, ripe tannins built for very long term ageability. $100 Our Price $91.99

2015 VML Russian River Pinot

Winemaker Notes: This wine is bursting with aromas of lavender, sandalwood, dried cranberry and cocoa. The palate starts with ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry. Vanilla and dark chocolate flavors lead into high notes of raspberry. The wine has focused acidity, balanced tannins and a smooth finish that will continue to soften over time. $32 Our Price $27.99

CHÂTEAU DOISY-VÉDRINES
 Barsac 2015, Half Bottles

Richer in style than the typical Barsac, with notes of almond cream and orange curd along with honeysuckle, white peach and toasted pineapple flavors. The long, unctuous finish lets the almond hint linger longest. Best from 2020 through 2040. 3,000 cases made. –JM $21.95/375ml

2012 Eponymous Macallister Vineyard Red Blend

Winemaker Notes: This vintage of Eponymous Red Wine immediately pleases with complex aromas hinting of cassis, spicy oak notes, and raspberries. Held to the light one sees a rich, purple- scarlet color that hints at the broad palette these grapes afford the winemaker. Solid body and firm, well-balanced structure with the flavors following the aromas and added nuances of chocolate and rhubarb. This wine's elegance and refinement starts with the lush entry and continues through the mid-palate and on to a long, pleasing finish. The grapes come from a single vineyard, MacAllister Vineyard, near the ridge of the Mayacamas Range on the Sonoma side of Mt. Veeder. This is a spectacular sloping site with multiple exposures and well drained, low fertility soils. $45
