2016 Carmel Road Panorama Pinot Noir

The 2016 Pinot Noir Panorama Vineyard was aged in 28% new French oak for 16 months. It has a pale to medium ruby color with scents of crushed cranberries, red and black cherries, rhubarb, warm earth, black tea leaves, rose petals, dried citrus peel and tree bark—a pretty interplay of ripe fruits and perfumed earthy character. 2018 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett

The 2018 Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett is darker toned and ripe on the flinty nose, with its crushed stone aromas. Richer and more intense on the palate, this is an almost creamy-textured and persistently salty Leistenberg that is quite rich but still playful and stimulating. It's just more generous and solemn on the palate. Perhaps more a Spätlese style but very stimulating in fact. Tasted in July 2019. Blended of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec and 0.5% Petit Verdot aged for 22 months in 35% new oak (95% French and 5% Hungarian), the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford sings of crushed red and blackcurrants, black berries and menthol with touches of fragrant earth, violets and black tea plus a waft of cigar box.
