Fess Parker Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2018
|Region||California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills|
Winemaker Notes :
Aromas of black cherry, sassafras, forest floor, baking spices, black tea, vanilla and sandalwood. Flavors of black cherry, red plum, milk chocolate, cranberry, wild strawberry, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
This widely available and fairly priced wine starts with aromas of tightly wound red fruit and dusty minerals. The palate deftly balances density with lifted acidity, carrying flavors of roasted cherry and root beer spice
Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2018 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills was mostly destemmed and brought up in 29% new French oak. It has a beautiful bouquet of spiced cherry and raspberry fruits as well as subtle forest floor and spice notes, medium body, a kiss of background oak, and a classy finish. Drink this fruit-loaded, balanced, complex effort over the coming 3-5 years. It's a great value.
