Winery Notes:
Very dark purple. Opaque. A deep, redolent nose of blackberries, cassis, tar, white lilies, and fresh cream. Mouthwatering! Full-bodied but quite polished, the wine envelops the palate with oodles of dark berry fruit. Finishes quite long. Compared to Rosella’s, less tannic and a bit more opulent, relying more on acidity rather than tannin for structure. Enjoy from 2022 (with a decant) all the way to 2034.

Lastly, the 2019 Syrah Papa's Block is similarly inky-hued and boasts a big, juicy, unevolved bouquet of blueberries, ground pepper, bacon fat, and cedary spice. As with all of Mike's 2019s, it's beautiful on the palate and has silky tannins, full-bodied richness, and a great finish. It's a big, blockbuster-styled Syrah to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years.
