Frédéric Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 1er Cru 2021
|Region||France, Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin|
Once again there is a relatively prominent crushed leaf quality to the earthier and more sauvage-inflected cool red pinot fruit aromas. There is better size, weight and mid-palate density to the medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the austere, bitter pit fruit and more compact finish that comes up a bit short. A few years of bottle aging should prove beneficial as this is presently somewhat awkward.
