Beringer Distinction Series Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 3 Pack 2017
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
A ruby hue sets up aromas of pomegranate, crème de cassis and acai, with notes of oak, cloves and black olive. Flavors showcase blue fruit led by blueberry alongside blackberry, a bit of licorice, walnuts and hazelnut. Opulent, well-balanced and high-toned, the wine shows good depth and a distinctive, lingering finish. Built for immediate enjoyment, the ample tannins frame the possibility that the Cabernet will continue to evolve and grow more complex as it ages. Enjoy over the next decade and longer.
Jammy red plum and cherry highlight a soft, supple palate that presents as lush and velvety-a reflection of its full-bodied roundedness and rich style. The price point is fair and overdelivers on the wine's broad appeal.
Including a splash of Merlot (1%), the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Distinctions is made to be a plusher, more fruit-forward wine. It has bright blue fruits, violets, tobacco, and chocolate notes and is more polished, seamless and sexy on the palate, with sweeter tannins. I'd be happy to drink bottles over the coming decade or so.
