A mixture of gravelly, sandy, and loamy soils combined with the extended sunlight from being located at the widest point in the valley delivers flavors of steeped red and dark fruit framed by silky tannins.
Planted in the heart of Rutherford at the widest point of the Napa Valley, Ithaca Vineyard benefits from abundant sunshine and a rich mixture of gravelly and sandy soils. The underlying sandstone base is ideal for California Cabernet Sauvignon which delivers a rare consistency of berry ripeness, color, and flavor.

Warm plum and black currant paste flavors are lined with singed cedar, tobacco and warm earth notes, picking up a light leathery tug as the fruit keeps pace through the finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. 500 cases made.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Ithaca Vineyard carries a lot of cedar and spices on the nose with baked berries and a warm cassis core plus a waft of dried herbs. The palate is medium to full-bodied and chewy with vibrant fruit and cedary accents, finishing long.
