Roar Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2018
|Region||California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands|
Scents of lifted caramel and cream drift seamlessly through a core of cherry, berry, and warm leather. As the fruit expands into ripe melon and hints of plum on the palate, elements of forest floor and spice build into perfumed rose and tobacco leaf on the finish.
Always a great value, the 2018 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands reveals a vibrant ruby hue as well as ripe cherry and strawberry fruit intermixed with notes of shiitake mushroom, dried herbs, and some meaty, earthy notes. It’s a slightly more finesse-driven wine than some of the single vineyards and is beautifully balanced, has good acidity, and unquestionably plays in the same qualitative ballpark as all of these releases.
Stylish and well-crafted, with concentrated ripe white fruit flavors, accented by lemon drop notes. Buttered toast and flan details show on the creamy finish, complemented by hints of dried tarragon. Drink now through 2025. 115 cases made.
