Wine Spectator 90
ROTH Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2017

Plush, with spicy accents to the flavors of cherry compote, red plum and dried raspberry. Notes of sandalwood show midpalate, leading to minerally details on the finish. Drink now through 2023. 3,000 cases made. —KM. $24 Our Price $19.49

2017 Obsidian Ridge Red Hills Cabernet

Winemaker Notes: Your nose is teased with coffee nibs, blueberries, and black pepper, but a shy side emerges after time in the glass: blackberries and a gentle floral lift. Flavors of dark chocolate, coffee, and fresh blackberry are carried on silky tannins—they speak clearly, but don’t shout. 2017 is a riper, fuller, but quieter vintage of our signature bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon. 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec. $31 Our Price $26.99

Wine Advocate 95
2016 Purlieu Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon gives up exuberant notions of blackcurrant pastilles, blackberry compote and stewed red plums with touches of kirsch, potpourri, fragrant earth and cigar box. Full-bodied and opulently fruited in the mouth, the powerful flavors are well framed by firm, ripe tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. $105 Our Price $99.99

Wine Advocate 100
2016 Bond Vecina Proprietary Red

Vecina vineyard is located in the western foothills of Oakville, just to the south-east of the winery (up on Oakville Grade). Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Vecina slips sensuously out of the glass with gorgeous black cherries, kirsch, wild blueberries and blackcurrant pastilles notes plus suggestions of bouquet garni, pencil lead, tilled earth and underbrush. Full-bodied, taut and packed with ripe, expressive, exquisitely accented black and blue fruits, it has loads of earthy sparks and a compelling fine-grained nature to the firm texture, finishing long and layered. This bright, energetic, incredibly nuanced beauty is built like a brick house and, while approachable in youth, is easily a 50-year wine. I therefore urge readers to wait at least 5-7 years before opening to allow for the myriad of subtle nuances to emerge and offer that "WOW" experience that will reward patience. $775

Winery Notes: BOND Our enduring vision at BOND is to create a portfolio of wines that are diverse in their geographic representation and ˈGrand Cruˈ in quality, all under the umbrella of one philosophy, one team, and one mark. Sourced from select hillside estates, the Cabernet Sauvignon wines of BOND vividly demonstrate the range of Napa Valley’s finest terroirs. From the more than eighty vineyards we have worked with over the past quarter century, we have slowly and vigilantly selected five sites. BOND became our covenant and shared commitment to produce only the best expression of the land. LOCATION: The Western Hills of Oakville. ELEVATION: 500 feet

Vecina, coined from the Spanish word for neighbor, marks our endeavor with the property situated directly southeast of the BOND winery. The distinctive volcanic slopes of this property reside in Oakville’s western foothills. By virtue of its proximity to the San Pablo Bay and its eastern exposure facing due east, this 11-acre site is the recipient of cool morning sun and fog. Vecina, appeared with the 1999 vintage in the inaugural BOND. The wine always possesses aromas of cacao, warm terra cotta and forest floor. It rests like a monument on the palate with intensity that is extremely vertical in dimension coupled with a savory finish.

SOIL: Bedrock overlain with fine grained alluvial wash. Eastern exposure. ELEVATION: 221 – 330 feet.
