Dr. H. Thanisch Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese Riesling 2016
On the riverbanks of the Mosel, right at the edge of the town Bernkastel the top site of Bernkasteler Lay is situated. The vineyard is West-Southwest oriented, which guarantees as maximum of sunlight during the day. The name Bernkasteler Lay relates directly to its name, as “Lay” is an old expression for slate in the local dialect. The slate is decomposed and fine, regularly producing superb quality.
This luscious wine offers flavors of ripe apple, baked pear and sweet baking spices. A tad creamy in texture and well-balanced, this shows lots of complexity throughout. Supple midpalate, with a slightly floral, intense and prolonged finish. Drink now through 2036. 50 cases made, 14 cases imported.
